For those of us who struggle to take up space…

From a certain soul-level lens, we can never not occupy all of the energetic space allotted to us.  It’s pointless to try, so you’d better learn to own all of who and what you are.

I know that those of us who carry this pattern learned it in order to preserve a fragile, conditional, erratic sense of safety. Kindness for that. And/but hear me out:

Picture your aura as a house that you live in.

Now say there’s something you’ve decided or learned is undesirable about one or two rooms in the house, so much so you decide not to go in those rooms. That’s what it looks like when we “make ourselves smaller”.

Now let a year, two years, ten years go by… who knows what the state of those rooms is now? Musty and full of cobwebs, probably. If there was a leak in the ceiling, or mold on a wall, you might never know. If anything, energies that shouldn’t be in your space have an easier time taking up permanent residence.

But the dimensions of the house never changed. It’s still the same building, taking up the same space as before, just performing its essential function of being a home more poorly.

The great news is, you can always reclaim ownership.
