Last year, someone bowled me over with unsolicited, channeled advice.
None of it made any sense to me, in fact a lot of it sounded like word salad. I know the spiritual planes can be a bit abstract, vague or ambiguous, but there’s a threshold where it’s just not effective to receive this “guidance” when it could mean anything.
I don’t know why the person felt so compelled to share this with me, but I’m leaving some margin of “we’re all figuring this stuff out” in it all, regardless of how awfully dissonant this encounter felt to me at the time.
BUT.
It highlighted how suspicious I am of channeling in which the purported communicator uses language that sounds condenscending or patronizing of our human perspective.
So much channeled material I’ve heard and read sounds practically like the spiritual version of mansplaining — with the underlying message that our puny average human perception or aspiration is woefully inferior. Or the channeled being sounds like they’re chastising or cutting us down to size, even in subtle ways, “for our own good”.
Yes, we need Spirit’s perspective to be whole, but not in that tone.
I don’t know how much of this is our own unconscious filter of what spiritual authority must sound like because of internalized toxic models of human relationship, and how much is actual beings in the ecologies of spirit who play at being our guides with other intentions other than our highest good.
I don’t believe that our true allies in Spirit have anything but the highest regard for us. We are champions for coming to Earth in their eyes.
What I hope to see change in the collective of spiritual human beings who bridge Earth and Spirit is a lot more discernment between contempt disguised as enlightenment and truly generative guidance that makes us better when we act on it.
